Finance.Calc is a powerful financial iPhone and iPad app incorporating 5 calculators. Use pre-loaded examples or input your own data, calculations are instantly displayed along with graphs and charts. Save, print and email results in .csv format for use in spreadsheet software such as Excel.

There are a number of general apps for making fundamental finance calculations, but Finance.Calc takes these further to improve the user experience. It provides chart output, allows the user to save and retrieve scenarios, and sends a report of the inputs and results by email.
Given the increase in functionality possible with the iPhone and iPad, it is not clear why anyone would ever buy a dedicated finance calculator or a calculator emulator for the iPhone that makes no use of the greater capabilities of an iPhone relative to a hard-wired calculator.
For more detail on Finance.Calc's five calculators, see below.
A calculator that allows you to calculate loan repayments as well as turning the calculation around to allow you to calculate principal, loan residual, term or interest rate. You can also calculate the impact of fees on the effective interest rate. Charts and tables allow you to see the repayment of principal and interest over the life of the loan.
This app lets you estimate the fund you could build up over a length of time given: current fund, years to go, your initial regular savings contribution, growth in that savings contribution, the estimated annual return on your investment and any tax paid on that investment income. As with the loan calc app, this app can be turned around so that given a final required fund you can calculate: required regular savings, the number of years required to build a given fund, etc. Charts and tables let you see the growth in the fund over time and to understand the impact of fees and inflation on the real value of your plot. Because of the uncertainty of future investment returns, users need to understand the warnings given on the first page of the app.
This app allows you to estimate the regular income you can earn from a fund over a length of time given: current fund, annual return, tax on that return, years of income, residual fund and required annual income growth. This app can be turned around so that given a required regular income you can calculate: required fund, the number of years of potential income, etc. Charts and tables help you to see the growth in income and the decline in the fund over time. Because of the uncertainty of future investment returns, users need to understand the warnings given on the first page of the app.
Investment appraisal depends on calculating the net present value (NPV) and/or internal rate of return (IRR) of an investment's cash flows. This app allows you to discount estimated cash flows and a terminal value over a given number of periods using a single discount rate or a curve of zero or forward rates. Where a unique solution is possible, the app will also calculate the IRR. Charts show the cash flows over time, discount factor curves and zero and forward rate curves.
Most bond calculators will just give you the estimated yield to maturity of a given bond. As well as this, Finance.Calc's bond calc also calculates bond duration and convexity as well as calculate the sensitivity of the bond's value to a given change in interest rates. It can also be used to value a bond, given either a constant yield or a curve of zero or forward rates. Charts and table show the bond cash flows over time, discount factor curves and zero and forward rate curves.
