CalcApps.com is a website that highlights iPhone apps that use the power of the iPhone to provide answers to both complex and simple problems.
We have started with two proof of concept app. Our first is OptionsEQ, an app that can calculate the value of a large number of financial options, using technical routines that would challenge even the most sophisticated finance professionals.
We chose option pricing as the first app because that enables us to demonstrate that even complex problems can be processed using the powerful iPhone processor while maintaining an intuitive easy-to-use interface that minimizes data entry.
Our second in Math.Trig, an app that both calculates all the missing angles and sides of a triangle using finger strokes and graphics and explains how it got to the solutions. This demonstrates the power of the iPhone to completely leap-frog the pocket calculator as a mathematical tool.
Finally, we are confident enough of our products to compare them systematically with competing apps.
